Lovin' That Post-Tech

June 10 - Friday night at Hays was ok.  Ended up with 9th place but was torn up with bent upper a-arm, spindle and shock.  Jacob drove out of turn four too hard and just lost it.  But have to give the kid credit.  He never gives up and when he is put to the back, he sure works hard to move forward.

Weather had us flipping a coin to try to figure out where to go Saturday night.  In the end we made the wrong choice as we ended up rained out so no points.  But before that, we got to have fun trying another new track for us.  And Jacob drove a great heat race with a 2nd place finish.  Some great coaching from Randy really showed.  He still had to try to come out hot on the last lap but backed off quicker this time and he held on to it.  Then came the rain and the hail.  Good seat time and great coaching but sure would have liked to see that feature!  And the rain cost us lasagna from Kim too.  Thanks to Grandpa, we had fried egg and bacon sandwiches and some beer.

On Sunday after Grandma took care of us with an Effie Burger, it was off to Wakeeney.  Eighteen cars in the feature and it was one long race.  Jacob drove the best race yet and no major mistakes which landed him a 2nd place finish!  It felt like a win.  It was awesome.  Big thanks to Randy and B because their coaching paid off.  Just couldn't do it without them.  And in tech it was awesome to hear so many people telling Jacob how well he drove and how clean he drove ‘em.

I texted Matthew on Jacob’s finish and got the best reply back "Thats my brother lol"

The entire fan club stopped after the race to congratulate Jacob.  It is so great to have our family there and know we have their support.  Without all the hard races, I guess a great night wouldn’t feel as great as this!

Next weekend, we are off to Hutchinson and to Mayetta.  Matthew joins us as he has a different job and now has weekends off!  I need to feed Randy so he has the energy for coaching two boys!  LOL.  Kim, I need help!  It is going to be fantastic to have CBR going together again.  I can’t wait for the weekend!
