CBR Together Again
May 20 - Finally we all got to go to races together. Didn't have the finishes we were hoping for though.
Jacob was driving great in the heat. Made one little mistake and then just got into another car which cut down our tire. He hung on to finish heat shredding the tire. But he sure doesn't give up! Gotta love it.
In the feature, the starts were not good and just struggled to hang in there. Still seem to have a problem with distributor so will be changing it and going through everything. Jacob dodged a couple of wrecks and held on through a lot of taps. You can sure see the good drivers from the bad. Drivers like cheeseburger can get around Jacob clean while others have to hit him. Kinda frustrating. Ended up with 10th finish.
Matthew had a decent heat and then dove in on his setup to get ready for feature. He worked his way up to 6 and was looking good like he would have a top 5. Then car spun in front of him and he was the middle of the sandwich. Tore a lot up again. He pitted to change flat and managed to finish the race with 8th place finish. I'm not sure how given the damage.
So neither boy was very happy at the end of the night. So very many things have to go right to have a good finish and we just haven't seemed to make it happen yet this season. But it will come. Need patience and luck.
Saturday we had an all day graduation party and got to see Matthew, Rylee and all of their friends cross the stage. It was a good day. So proud of our kids.
Sunday Steve tore in to the cars between the graduation parties. Found Jacob was down a cylinder. Had a broken rocker arm. Matthew's repairs are too numerous to go in to.
Memorial weekend Jacob will be back at the track while Matthew has to work.
We'll be trying to get Jacob his best finish of the season.
