May 17 - Friday night at Hays found Jacob starting in the middle of the pack. Early in the race a big wreck happens just out of turn 2. Jacob comes around the turn seeing it just in time and dodging to the high side. He runs a good race but when a guy moves down, Jacob taps him and the guy spins out. Jacob is charged with the caution and goes to the back. From there he does some good passing and manages to finish with 9th place.

Saturday the boys start the day changing springs and trying to find the problem with the car. Steve doesn't feel it has run right since last weekend when it got so hot. It turns out to just need spark plugs. Such a small thing can sure cause problems when all are not firing. The boys head to Minneapolis while I head to Greensburg for graduation. Track wasn't very good at heat race time and Jacob doesn't have enough seat time yet on such tracks. Ends up starting in 12th position for the feature. Finished in 8th place which is his best finish so far this season. He is getting ever closer to the top 5 goal. Minneapolis posts lap times and he even had the second fastest lap one time. Now, to get that consistently is the key.

Jetmore is cancelled which disappoints all of us. Next weekend we will be back to Hays. Then Matthew has graduation and while Jacob feels strongly we need to skip it and go racing, I think we have to miss races on Saturday and choose on the side of this one time event. Not sure Mattew wouldn't choose racing too if I gave him the choice! Lol!
