Third Place at Colby

August 1 - A one race weekend and Matthew brings home another top 5 with a 3rd place finish at Colby.  He worked his way into 2nd pretty quick and of course, it was a long race this time - 20 laps.  Matthew couldn't catch the leader and by half way, the third place was clearly catching up to Matthew.  Now everyone has an opinion in every race about where Matthew should have ran or what he should have done.  Most of the time, I don't see it.  But, this time, I could see it and was even trying to motion to Matthew on a red flag stop to go high.  Even after the car got around him, he stuck stubbornly to the line he was running.  Private video showing will offer interesting commentary by all I am sure.

Jacob was suppose to race on Sunday and they moved it to Saturday.  Hard to keep up with how often they keep changing that schedule at 81.  Jacob is a great sport.  Matthew made it up to Jacob by taking him 4-wheeling in Oklahoma instead.  He wanted to drive straight through last night and get in by 7 AM.  We made a pit stop at Grandpas for a few hours of sleep instead and put them on the road just a few hours later than that.  But it doesn't feel like we got much sleep at all.

Wednesday we join NASCAR veteran Kenny Schrader at RPM Speedway in Hays for a mid-week show.  Beyond that, I'm not sure what my schedule is yet.  I need to take a nap now.
